At 05:36 on Monday July 12, 2021, stations 1 & 27 were alerted to a residential structure fire in the neighborhood of Back Creek. First arriving units found smoke coming from the garage of the structure. Quick entry was made and fire was located in the garage area and extinguished. The Volunteer Hose Company was assisted by the Delaware City, Odessa, Port Penn, Townsend, and Aetna HH & L fire departments as well as New Castle County medic 5. At 06:11 the scene was placed under control and turned over to the Delaware State Fire Marshal.
