On May 9th, Stations 1 and 27 were dispatched in response to a report of a vehicle that had collided with the front of a residential garage. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the vehicle had struck the main gas line servicing the house. As a safety precaution, nearby residences were evacuated, and Chesapeake Utilities was promptly notified. Units remained on scene for approximately three hours to ensure the situation was safely mitigated.
