Wednesday afternoon, January 21st at 14:08hrs, Station 26 was alerted for a tire fire on Cannery Lane in Townsend. Townsend personnel arrived to find a large pile of tires burning and requested a field piece and Rescue 27 for foam to assist. Rescue 27 and 27-1 responded to assist, as well as units from Odessa and Clayton. Fire department units operated the scene for 2 hours to bring the fire under control.
