Tuesday afternoon, March 3rd at 13:29hrs, Stations 1&27, Station 15 for a Ladder and Engine, Stations 7,8,9,10 for an Engine, Stations 3,6,12 for an Engine and Station 29 for a Rescue and Engine were alerted for a working house fire at 984 Howell School Road. Engine 10-2 from Aetna was first to arrive with fire showing through the roof within 6 minutes of dispatch. Crews from all companies assisted with fire extinguishment and extensive overhaul of the residence in frigid temperatures. Howell School Road was closed to all traffic for several hours to accomodate over 3000 feet of hose for water supply. Personnel worked the fire scene for over 3 1/2 hours. The State Fire Marshals office is investigating the cause of the fire. The Red Cross is currently assisting the family.
