Thursday morning, September 3rd at 01:33hrs, Stations 1&27, New Castle County Medic 5C and Trooper 4 were alerted for a vehicle accident with entrapment in front of Willis Middletown Chevrolet. Crews arrived on scene to find a single vehicle off of the roadway with the driver significantly trapped in the car. Firefighters from Volunteer Hose extricated the occupant in under 12 minutes, who was then transported to Christiana Hospital by Trooper 4 for further evaluation . The roadway remained closed while Middletown Police investigated the incident. Rescue 27 remained on scene to provide lighting.
