Monday evening at 22:22hrs, Stations 1&27 were alerted for a vehicle accident with injuries at the above area. Crews arrived on scene to find a 5 vehicle accident, with a patient trapped in one of the vehicles. NCC Medic 6D was added to the response. Crews quickly extricated the trapped occupant who was immediately transported to Christiana Hospital with severe injuries. The road remained closed for several hours while the Delaware State Police completed their investigation and DelDOT cleaned up the remaining debris.
