Working House Fire - Howell School Road

Early Tuesday morning at 01:26hrs., the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown, Christiana, Delaware City, Aetna Hose Hook & Ladder Company of Newark, Port Penn, Odessa, Chesapeake City and New Castle County Paramedics were alerted for a working house fire on the 800 block of Howell School Road.
Rescue Engine 12-6 from the Christiana Fire Company arrived on scene with heavy fire conditions, laid a supply line from the entrance to the Caravel Woods neighborhood and began an aggressive knock down of the fire. Rescue Engine 6-6, also from Christiana completed the supply line lay to the nearest hydrant and established the water supply. Units from Delaware City and Middletown arrived within minutes of Christiana and crews from all departments worked throughout the night to bring the fire under control.
The home sustained major damage.
The Delaware State Fire Marshals office is investigating the cause of the fire.
