Tuesday afternoon around 16:09hrs., the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown, Odessa and Townsend Fire Companies were alerted for a house fire on Boyds Corner Road. Rescue 27 and Engine 1-6 arrived to find a visible smoke condition inside of the residence from a small fire in the kitchen. The initial crews were able to contain the fire without major damage to the home. Assistant Chief Mullen had command.
