Jake's Hamburgers announced today that the fundraiser held yesterday at all 8 local Jake's Hamburger locations on behalf of the family of Delaware City Firefighter Michelle Smith was a HUGE SUCCESS!! Thanks to all of you we were able to raise a total of $22,000 to contribute to Emily Burge's trust fund.

Donations were accepted by Firefighters at each store and Jake's donated 20% of all sales that day to the trust fund that has been established for the benefit of Michelle's daughter, "The Emily A. Burge Trust Fund," c/o the Delaware City Fire Company. The support for this event from the community was OUTSTANDING.

Jake's would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank those that came out to contribute to this worthy cause, and we sincerely appreciated your patience, courtesy and stamina as you waited in long lines for your orders. We also salute and offer sincere thanks to our dedicated Firefighters and EMT's for all they do each and every day to protect our community and for the many hours they spent yesterday participating in this worthy event.

If you were unable to contribute to the event yesterday, contributions to the "The Emily A. Burge Trust Fund" are still being accepted, and they can be sent to:

Delaware City Fire Company 815 Fifth Street P.O. Box 251 Delaware City, DE 19706
